Don’t get the idea that I’m doing this just because Julie got a book deal from writing a blog. And don’t get the idea that I’m doing this just to irritate my Darling Daughter by setting us up as MommyDaughterBloggers (and it’s okay. she adores me. in that way that all 20-year-olds adore their mothers. yeah, that’s it.) And don’t get the idea that I’m doing this because everyone else is. If that were true, I’d sport a tattoo 🙂
The “Why” is that I used to be a prolific writer, and one day I stopped. And I don’t like that I stopped.
In a class once, we were asked to assign a quote to each member of our group. A lovely woman of 80, black and born on Christmas Day in Coastal South Carolina, handed me a slip of paper that read, “Pam: Don’t Hide Your Light Under a Bushel.”
Twelve years have passed, and before I know it, twelve more will follow them. I want to write again. And today feels like the day.
