What Are You Waiting For?
52-year-old gnaws through the cocoon.About This Photograph
The photograph across the top of the page was taken by me in May, 2006, in Florence during a three-week stay in Italy. I’m a sucker for both architectural elements and gardens, so this was a natural. It isn’t my all-time favorite, but it rather fits the space.
And you know, in the end, it rather fits the blog, as well. The lofty edifice, with three portals to the interior, lightly gauzed, each one progressively shielded from the viewer or, if you look the other way, each one progressively shown to the viewer.
Yep, this will be some fun for sure. I can make a metaphor out of anything. Try me!

I went to Florence once. And it was not closed. 1968. I think. The Arno had recently flooded, however, and the Uffizi was closed for repairs. There was still plenty to see. in Florence but I missed one of the world’s gretest art collections. Your photo is a lovely image of a vine covered structure with three windows all lit by that wonderful Tuscan sunlight.
